The Kinzers | Sunflower Shoot

From engagements to wedding and now as a little family, the Kinzers are always a joy to photograph, and now that little Elliot is in the picture, these two just got even more adorable. Also, Elliot's many faces cracked me up the whole time. He is quite the character! Here are some fun shots in a sunflower field in Kansas.

Grace + Titus

A very simple elegant wedding mid October in Joplin, MO. full of my favorite colors and gorgeous greenery.

Korie + Kaleb | A Missouri Wedding Story

Korie and Kaleb were married under the trees in rural Missouri surrounded by family and friends on a beautiful September day. Korie's grandparents hosted this event by opening up their home and land to all of us to gather and celebrate and it couldn't have been a more perfect setting. They became husband and wife as well as a family of four. This was one of the most lively and loving wedding stories that I got to be apart of and I am so excited to share their story with you.

Enjoy!

Melissa + Tyler | Engagement

Meet Melissa and Tyler. We all went to Pittsburg State University as art majors in Porter Hall, where these two met and where my love for photography began. Years later here we are again in Pittsburg, KS. shooting their engagement photos in the very places they fell for one another. It's funny to think back to seeing these two always sitting next to each other in Art History classes as friends, having no idea that one day they would call me to be their wedding photographer. Now these guys are living in California where they will get married under the red woods. I CANNOT wait!

Here are a few of my favorite frames from their engagement in the small Kansas town were it all began.

Savanna + Nathan | A Desert in the Midwest

I love this location so much, so I was thrilled when Savanna and Nathan wanted to use it for their 6 year anniversary pictures...which I think they make this place look even better. These two were so fun to be around and I just love how their pictures came out. So much giddiness, laughter and after 6 years of marriage still so much love for each other that truly shows.

Here's to another 6 years and many many more!

Enjoy.

Jordan + Austin | A June Wedding

So it's obvious that this wedding was beyond gorgeous and so was everyone involved, but this wedding was so much more than that. From the get go it was all about family, friends and true moments of love and celebration between all of them, a very tight knit group from the midwest.

That morning, Jordan gave all her bridesmaids, her family, even the groomsmen heartfelt gifts and cards, that moved almost everyone to tears ( including myself! I couldn't take it! ) Truly a bride that exudes beauty on the inside and the outside and cares about everyone around her. Both Jordan and Austin do! Seriously one of the nicest, most generous, loving couples I've met. It's so touching to watch the way Austin looks at Jordan. The love and respect he has for her is so moving and something so many look for in a partner. They are both extremely blessed to have found each other.

This wedding was full of love, laughter and tears. I hope it shows in this set.

Enjoy.

Ashten + Austin | Joplin Wedding

So happy to finally get back to the swing of things since our move to Kansas City this last Saturday! AND so happy to finally have internet at my new place. This wedding was one of the most laid back weddings I have ever been apart of, with two of the easiest going couples. It was also my first Catholic wedding that took place in such a gorgeous church in downtown Joplin, MO. followed by a camp site for the reception where we got some awesome shots on a massive bridge in the forest. Ashten and Austin are easily one of my best couples that are not only amazing in front of the camera, but made sure they had hours of time to shoot after their ceremony, so we had tons of time to play around with the camp site. Such a fun wedding that I am so glad I got to be apart of. All the best to you both!

Enjoy!

Korie + Kaleb | Engagements

I am so stoked to be working with such a beautiful and fun loving couple this year! We went on a two day excursion to Arkansas and hit up Beaver Lake and Devil's Den. Here are just a few of my favorites out of so many more. Looking so forward to their September wedding!

Enjoy.

The Toscanos | Newborn

Happy Thursday! I wanted to get some blog posts up before the week was over and wanted to start off with this adorable lifestyle/newborn session! I rarely get to do these, but I hope to get a chance to do a lot more in the home type of work. It just adds so much more meaning to the photos and a personal touch.

I shot Jordan and Max's maternity session and then shortly after Tucker was already here! Don't you love his little outfit?! He was probably the most calm baby I have ever been around and I have really enjoyed getting to know his parents as well!

I hope you enjoy these as much as I do!

Rylee

I love meeting with artists that inspire me so. Rylee is definitely one of them. I'm so happy to call her my friend. Also shout out to Roots coffee house in Pittsburg for giving us a cool place to hang, and for the buffalo we got really close to...for not trampling us for getting in his bubble.

Happy Friday!

Jordan + Austin || Engagement

New years resolution: post more on the blog...so let's start with one of my favorite shoots with Jordan and Austin! I so enjoy working with these two, they are easy going, fun loving people that are so cussin' easy to photograph. Their wedding is this June, and I could not be more excited to see what they have in store for their big day. I just know I am going to LOVE it. Keep your eyes pealed for more blog posts! I plan to post some even from a couple years back!

I hope you love these as much as I do!

2015

Ringing in the new year tonight and taking a look back at a few of my favorite shots from this year. I couldn't possibly publish all of them, this post would go on forever. In my personal life there have been some ups and downs of course, but I feel that photography once again has given me the wonderful joy that keeps me coming back for more. As I move onto a new year and a whole new variety of clients and possibilities, I plan on changing quite a few things and learning to only take in a select few wedding clients. I want to travel more, much more. Take more time to shoot for myself and get those creative juices flowing. HOPEFULLY move to a new city. Meet more creatives. The list of resolutions goes on...

This year however has been a fairly good one. My daughter and I went camping for the first time and it has become something we plan to do often. I got to visit my good friend and his new wife in Utah and explore the area while taking some of my favorite engagement pictures. This year is the first year I had the opportunity to be a videographer, which I hope is not the last. Made trips to Colorado, Texas and Arkansas. Was published in the Show Me Magazine, and have had photographs appear on the Varily website. All in all life has been pretty good to me, so here is to the new year. I hope you enjoy these!

Michael + Kelsie || Wedding Trailer

Happy Monday! Hope everyone has been having as much fun during this Labor Day weekend as I have. During my time in Colorado, I played the role of videographer which was actually a really fun change of pace from my usual photographer title. I did have withdrawals though, and snagged a few still frames which I will share at a later date. Anyhow, I thought I would share this "trailer" for the video that hopefully won't take me too long to make. I've never done a video in my life, so this was mainly for practice. Please be kind as I am a newbie!

Michael is a dear friend of mine from college so when he wanted to hire me as a videographer, I was up for the challenge. Kelsie is the sweetest girl and so easy to get along with, and I am so happy that they found each other! Their engagement pictures where displayed everywhere and they looked beautiful. The wedding was amazing, and I think we all just had a great time celebrating love in the mountains.

I really hope you all enjoy!

Morgan + Cameron || Engagement

Oh. My. Gaaahhh. I feel like I blacked out from the insane amount of gorgeousness during this session. Needless to say, I am so very excited for their wedding next month! These two are such a sweet, caring couple. Beautiful inside and out. I simply can't have enough love for their pictures!

Huge thanks to Ozark Nursery of Joplin for letting us photograph around their garden shop. I have always been in love with their layout and flowers.

Enjoy!

Lacy + Andrew || Wedding

I actually met Lacy and Andrew when I photographed their friends Thomas and Kylie's wedding last year, when they were apart of the bridal party and weren't even engaged yet. That night they both caught the corsage and the bouquet! Lacy and Andrew are such a fun couple and super cool, I always have a great time around them, which I am sure many would say the same. Held in old school, downtown Kansas City, full of thrift shops and old architecture, their wedding venue was amazing. Easily one of my favorites! I will let the pictures speak for themselves. Love you guys, you are a wonderful couple and I wish you all the best!

A snap from Thomas and Kylie's wedding to start off. Oh, and a shout out to Andrew for his sweet typography design on the chalk board. Andrew is a fellow artist/designer, hit him up for any design needs, he is amazing!

Enjoy!
